The adhesive is basically that old Anerican standard-decoupage! I use acrylic matte medium which works great with the paint and colored pencil on a stretched canvas.

I love that store, and Bill. I remember that he and I spoke of the film The Gleaners & I, which I recently watched again. Yet, not being an SFer, I could not recall where his store was (near Chinatown?) or the name. I imagined finding my way back to SF and not knowing where we were. Now I do!

This collage is awesome: bravo! The French text is interesting; some kind of knight's éloge in modern verse. Ah, it's Jacques Prévert! He's excellent - I hope the person who was kind enough to give you that piece of paper didn't burn the rest of the book. A friend of said person who happens to know French might just want to take a glance at it. I look forward to hearing how the piece is received!

What a cool video! And the concept of making film shorts for smartphone viewing is great - another way to incorporate art into daily life! All the same, let's convince ourselves that watching the Fifth Element on our iPhone is a good idea... hahaha.

the sky in the photo on top is so lovely -
juxtaposed against the neutral
block of the building -- a beautiful, poetic
almost ethereal photograph.

I say the second one. My father is a photographer as well, but he is not a purist: I think he'd agree with me in my cover choice. Although I'm not crazy about the mixing of font colors, I must say... I think the eye gravitates more toward type when at the center of the page, which may play a large part in my opinion.

Definitely the first cover. If I was the photographer and you did the second version, I'd maim you for life. Unless of course I was a mature photographer, in which case I'd be completely indifferent to everything except the money, knowing that at the end of the day one never gets their way in this business and that the design world is utterly broken and will likely never be set right again.

beautiful covers!!

since you asked... - i much prefer the lower cover - the one with the white, orange and blue titles -
it pops with those dark green trees in the background.
far more interesting and prettier in my opinion!
